The Overview
Carlyle is one of the world’s largest and most diversified global investment firms. The company is spread over five continents with a team of over 1,800 employees. The Carlyle Intranet is the centralized platform for the company to communicate and share insights with employees, teams, and business segments.

The Problem
The results of user interviews led to a discovery that a strong percentage of employees found the Intranet to be frustrating and confusing to use. 

The Brief
My team was tasked with the redesign of the Carlyle Intranet interface within the CMS Drupal 8. We wanted to create a functional, accessible platform that would draw in the 1,800 Carlyle employees daily.

A brand communicating new beginnings complimented.

 

The brand system aimed to be a modern start for Carlyle by opting for rich colors that were in line with its external-facing brand. I led the integration of the new brand system through content creation under the art direction of the lead designer.

User-centered design built for a global audience.

 

The main functionalities were unified and communicated on the intranet dashboard, creating accessibility for all users. The new functional platform became an instant success, viewed daily by 1,800 users.
